Mangaluru: District In-charge Minister Ramanath Rai on November 28 inaugurated the digital display board near the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The initiative by the State Information Department is primarily for public use and also aims to promote state government schemes.

Minister Rai and other dignitaries present watched the visuals and slides of promos by various state departments.

Similar boards have already been installed in 10 other district centres of the state and this is done with the public–private participation. The total cost incurred towards the display is Rs 32 Lakh and it will remain operational between 10 AM in the morning and 9 PM in the night. The annual maintenance of the LED display has been assigned to a private company.

The information appearing on the display will flow directly from the information department based in capital Bengaluru.

Legislators J R Lobo, Moideen Bava and Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil were present.
