Puttur: The fifth accused in the Rajadhani Jewelers shootout case at Puttur was arrested at Kozhikode Airport on Thursday.
The arrested has been identified as Rameez Raja, a resident of Kumble. He is said to be a salesman in Dubai. The Puttur police arrested him as soon as he landed at Kozhikode Airport.
Six people fired bullets at Rajadhani Jewelers, Puttur on October 6, 2015. They immediately fled the scene. It is said that the accused returned when they realized that the first shootout was a failure.
Asir, Ali alias Munna, Anwar and Kalia Rafiq were arrested by the Puttur town police. Rameez was produced before a court and was remanded to judicial custody for 15 days.
