Mangaluru: “My faith is in the younger generation, the modern generation; out of them will come my workers who will work out the whole problems like lions, said Swami Vivekananda. He is the eternal youth icon and his life and message have inspired millions of youths all over. To mark his contribution, The Government of India declared in 1984, 12 Jan as the National Youth Day.
As every year, this year too, Ramakrishna Math will observe National Youth Day on 12 January 2024 in the Ashrama auditorium from 9 a.m. Swami Sarvasthanandaji, Head, of Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre, London will be present. The programme will be inaugurated by Sri Dinesh Gundu Rao, Hon. Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Karnataka. Sri Manjunath Bhandary, MLC and Sri Anandh, CEO of DK Zilla Panchayat will be the Chief Guests. Prof B Ravi, Director of NITK, Surathkal will be a Special Invitee.
The inaugural programme will be followed by a talk by Swami Sarvasthanandaji on the topic, “Swami Vivekananda – Source of Inspiration for Youths”. This will be followed by an interactive session by Namratha Rao, Founder of Myoksha Youtube channel on the topic, “Positive Contents for Incredible Bharat”. These talks will be followed by a Panel Discussion on the topic, “Role of Youth in Atmanirbhar Bharat”.
Dr Harini Suraj, CEO of Punarapi Eco Tiles Pvt Ltd, Sri Aditya Kalluraya, CEO of WEB People and Sri Pranav Bhat, Founder of Swadeshimart will participate in the panel discussion moderated by RJ Abhishek Shetty. About 600 youths from many colleges in and around Mangalore are expected to attend the programme.
