Sullia: Congress will regain power if party men bury their differences and work united, opined KPCC Working President Dinesh Gundu Rao at the taluk level party workers convention in Sullia on July 15.

Addressing the Sullia Congress booth level party workers’ convention, DGR said Sangh Parivar was making all efforts to divide the society on communal lines but it would fail as the electorate will reject the divisive agenda of the saffron party. The Congress will be strengthening at the grass roots to foil the bid of communal elements from gaining power, DGR said.

The party which opposed GST and FDI, is now trying to take all the credit for their implementation but in reality the GST would have come into effect 4 years ago if the opposition NDA had supported the bill then, stated DGR.

The stoic silence of the prime minister on border dispute with China is baffling and the media has to play a constructive role in exposing the shortfalls of the ruling regime which is trying to project the PM as the best ever in order to hide its shortcomings.

By killing innocent people in the guile of protecting cows, BJP is resorting to worst form of politics. Congress has its own strong ideology and sustains on it to defeat the dangerous agenda of BJP, said P C Vishnunath, KPCC Secretary and legislator.

BJP stormed to power by giving juicy promises but failed to fulfil most of them including getting black money back from abroad, creating new jobs, reducing the price of petroleum products and the “broad chested” PM even failed to curb terrorism, Vishnunath said ridiculing Modi government.

The Congress workers have to take the state government schemes to the door steps of the people and explain the benefits to regain the confidence of electorate, he added. With no scam reported in 4 years of governance, the government without any blemish stands in better position, he felt.

Congress had no role in the recent violence in DK as some organisations tried to foment trouble, said Forest Minister Ramanath Rai on the occasion and added that a peace march from Mani town to Mangaluru would be undertaken shortly.

My contribution to the taluk is greater than that of Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda who hails from the region, stated Rai and added that no efforts had been spared in giving the taluk its due despite the absence of ruling party legislator from Sullia.

District Congress President Harish Kumar, Puttur MLA Shakuntala Shetty, several local Congress leaders and party workers were present.
