Mangaluru: Keeping forth their demand for a footbridge between Baikampady and National Highway 66, the members of several organisations, associations and local residents of Baikampady presented a memorandum to MP and state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel, on Tuesday, October 22.
In their memorandum, the people of Baikampady explained their difficulties to access NH 66, as goods trains are halted on the railway track for long hours. Children, sick people, senior citizens, and especially pregnant women face a lot of problem due to this.
They said that many people even crawl under the halted train to cross the track, which is precarious. The residents have said that keeping all this in mind, the footbridge is the need of the hour and the MP should take all appropriate measures to fulfil people’s demand.
