Mangaluru: The Karnataka State Bar Council on Thursday urged the state government to remove tainted IAS officer Kapil Mohan as Chairman of Karnataka Appellate Tribunal (KAT). Mohan is facing several allegations against him and investigation by Lokayukta police and CID is in progress
Not right to hold post
KSBC called an emergency meeting of its members and has passed the resolution urging the Chief Minister and Law Minister to intervene immediately and relieve Mohan from the post.
After Newskarnataka drew the attention towards the issue, Chairman of the State Bar Council Patil Ashok Ramanagouda, on appointment of Kapil Mohan has Chairman to KAT on June 6, 2016, said, “It is bad and also not appropriate before the eyes of law, for an official facing several allegations to adjudicate case holding the post of Chairman and give judgements.”
