Kasargod: In a tragic collision of a car and bus, a couple lost their life. The accident left 18 passengers injured near Maungal in Kanjangad.
Suresh Babu (39) and Sudhamani (35) from Vellarikundu are the deceased. Their son Gopinath (12) who was seriously injured has been taken to a hospital in Mangaluru. Three other persons also suffered serious injuries.
The incident took place when Suresh Babu and his family were heading towards Vellarikundu from Kanjangad and bus heading from Panattur to Kanjangad.
Among the injured were bus driver Ravi, Abdul Hameed from Kumble, Preethi, Beena James, Udaya, Ashoka, Baby Radhika, Rajani and Shaji. They have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
Hosadurga police rushed to the spot and registered a case.
Deceased Suresh Babu who is a BSF soldier, recently retired from his service. Sudhamani was working in a private bank.
