Mangaluru: The newly chartered Rotary Club Mangalore City club flag and official website were released by Rtn. PHF Rohinath, District Governor 2018-19, Rotary Dist. 3181 during his official club visit at Ocean Pearl here on Wednesday, September 5.

Speaking after releasing the club flag, Rtn. PHF Rohinath said, “A District Governor is the caretaker of the clubs assigned to his care. I am happy to notice that a club born just months ago, has grown like a matured club. I congratulate the President Rtn Dr. Ranjan RK and the team working behind this.”

He then spoke about how Rotary is working on key focus areas worldwide and how all the members are voluntarily supporting the cause. “Rotary is the main organisation which took the polio drive seriously across the world and even though there are no polio cases detected in India, Rotary still works to immunize kids to keep this disease completely under control,” he said adding that he was proud of Rotary’s accomplishment, stating that it would make history when polio is eradicated completely. He also spoke about the initiation of the Asha Spoorthi project, where each club adopts anganawadis. Most of the clubs have adopted two to three anganawadis and are supporting the cause of education, he said.

Requesting all members to participate in all activities, he expressed his wish for more youth to join the Rotary club in order to transform society into a happy living place.

Assistant Governor of Zone 3 Rtn Divakar Amin said, “A bright star has risen in the Rotary International. This club has energetic members. More opportunities are created when there are more clubs and more members. We need to educate the public about our initiatives and gather their support.”
