Rotary Mangalore Seaside holds various event for lecturers for teachers’day

Mangaluru: Rotary Club Mangalore Seaside, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day organised various talent competitions for the lecturers of Mangaluru level, on August 25 at the Lourdes Central School. The award ceremony for the winners of these events was held at the Maya International Hotel hall here on Tuesday, September 4.

Senior Lecturer Uday Kumar M was felicitated on the occasion for his exemplary teaching service. Addressing after receiving the felicitation, Uday Kumar M shared his experience as a teacher and a Rotaract member. He also requested all those present at the venue to respect three important things – Mother nature, Soldiers and Farmers.

Chief Guest of the function and Rotary District 3181 Assistant Governor Rtn Divakar Amin in his message appreciated the Rotary Mangaluru Seaside’s initiative of organizing such event and also wished good luck for the new club.

Chief Guest Rtn MPHF Surya Prakash Bhat speaking on the occasion said “I respect all the teachers. They are the magicians who transform us from stone to a polished diamond.” Narrating his own experience, he said that his physical education teacher from St Aloysius School taught him how to accept defeat and this was the biggest lesson of his life. He requested all the teaches to teach the students a little bit of outside the curriculum and also to teach the students how they can be happy always.

Later, winners of the different competition were given prizes by the Guest of honour.

Nayashree of St. Aloysius college won the first prize in Master of the ceremony competition and Dr. Malini Hebbar of St. Agnes College won 2nd prize.

Mohan Raj of St. Aloysius college won the first prize in the Solo event and Subharekha of St. Agnes College won 2nd prize. Judges Appreciation prize was backed by Chitrakshi of Government First Grade College, Carstreet and Deeksha Pai of St. Aloysius College.

St Aloysius College won the First prize in the group event and second prize was shared by Govindas College Surathkal and St. Agnes College, Mangaluru. Judges Appreciation prize in Group event category was shared between SDM College of Business Management and Canara College Mangaluru.

St. Aloysius College backed the first position in the Overall championship, Govindas College second position and SDM College of Business Management Third. The consolation prize was backed by St. Agnes College and Canara College backed Judges Appreciation prize.

Club President Rtn Floric Lobo welcomed. Rtn Chethan Shetty and Rtn Ashok Mk, the conveners of the Teachers Talent Competition were honoured. Secretary Rtn Suresh was present. Dr Yatish compered the event.
