Bantwal: A rowdy sheeter was, on Sunday, February 2, found stabbed to death in the Sajipamuda village near Nagri Shanthi Nagar, Bantwal taluk. His body was found inside an Innova.

The deceased has been identified as Taslim (45), a native of Kerala. He was a rowdy sheeter with cases of murder, attempt to murder and robbery registered against him. It is said that Taslim had connections to the rowdy jiya gang.

Taslim was arrested in the 2019 Bandaru Arun jewelry robbery case and was sent to he Gulbarga jail. On Thursday, his brother paid his bail and he was subsequently released. It is learned that, while he was exiting the jail, he was kidnapped.

The Bantwal police informed that a kidnapping case had been registered in this regard.

According to the police, it is possible that Taslim was kidnapped by a rival gang, who murdered him in a desolated area. They then placed his body inside the Innova and fled.

The incident came to light when the residents of the Sajipamuda village went to inspect the vehicle as it looked like it had been abandoned. They immediately alerted the police.
