RTO inspects school vehicles, sets guidelines

Bantwal: In a joint operation, the Regional Transport Officer (RTO), the district police and education department carried out inspection of both public and private school vehicles at Infant Jesus school grounds in Modankap on August 28.
RTO GS Hegde advised drivers not to violate traffic norms when they drive school vehicles. He asked drivers to use lot of caution as chances of accidents are high in case of school vehicles. He asked them to drive within the stipulated speed limits and not engage in competition on roads.

Emphasizing on their responsibility, he said, the vehicles should be properly maintained and the drivers should carry badges along with them. The drivers should be insured and cautioned them against the use of stickers and screens on vehicle glass panes (especially in omni type vehicles).

Bantwal circle inspector Manjiah, Rural police station Inspector A K Rakshith Gowda, Senior Inspectors Joy and Ashwin from Road transport department, Resource person Ravikumar from Education were present on the occasion. Traffic sub-inspector Chanrashekaraiah, welcomed and thanked the gathering.
