Mangaluru: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management’s ‘Team Challengers’ participated at the SAE-ISS (SAE India Southern Section) at Anna University, Chennai. It is a national level three-day aerodesign competition where students from all over the country participate. Challengers participated in the Micro UAV Class and won 2nd Place in Overall Performance and Best Design Report. The highest payload lifted is 1.5 Kg.
The members of Team Challengers were Pramod Kumar of 1st year Computer science, Shamanth Gowda and Meghana Shetty of 2nd year E&C, Abdul Shameer Mechanical, Rakshith Karumbaiah and Pranamya A Y of 3rd year Information Science an Nanda Kumar of 4th year Mechanical Engineering.
The first day of the event included the inaugural, technical inspection and presentation of the models. On the second day, the team had an assembly round and won 50 points bonus for completing the task within 89 seconds. The third day witnessed second flight rounds. The valedictory ceremony concluded with prize distributions in the presence of dignitaries Dr. S Ganesan, Registrar Anna University (Chief Guest), Shri S. Sriraman, Chairman SAEISS, Dr. K. Senthil Kumar, Champion ADC & Director MIT Campus, Dr. B.T.N. Sridhar Head Dept. of Aerospace Engineering MIT Campus, Anna University.
