Mangaluru: Reacting to ‘salam mangalarati’ controversy, Deputy Leader of Opposition and MLA U. T. Khader on Sunday March 27 said that there is a governing body to look into the tradition of the historic Kollur Temple, and a layman has no right to speak about the same. Let the Temple Administration and Temple Committee decide on this. It is not nice to talk about culture and history, he asserted.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday March 27, he said that seers and gurus are aware of the religious tradition. Further, it is up to the management to decide whether or not a ritual needs to continue or stop. If there is an injustice amid all this, then that will be taken care of by God, he added and said “How much can we men give. However, if God punishes then there is no escape from it.”
“Tipu Sultan’s history is not just in textbooks but it is in all museums in the world. There is a history about Tipu Sultan everywhere including England and France. No one can change it. Tipu’s history is visible in many parts of the State as well, Khader noted.
Elaborating on such acts, Khader said that it is merely an act that conveys the attitude of the Government. BJP Government has neither opened schools, and colleges for children nor has done anything for the development of the teachers, he stressed.
