Mangaluru: To show solidarity towards communal harmony and secularism, political parties and organisations with a secular ideology in Dakshina Kannada will hold a “Samarasya Nadige Sauhardatheyedege” (walk for harmony) from Farangipete to Mani on December 12.
Addressing a press meet at the Mini Town Hall, on Thursday, district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai without naming any organisations said, “Except communal organisations which had taken part in communal killings, all organisations and political parties will take part in this ‘Samarasya Nadige Sauhardatheyedege’. This is for the better future of the district and to protect the communal harmony. Prominent leaders from various secular political and non political organisations will take part in the this walkathon. This walkathon will be peaceful walk just by holding placards.”
Prior to this, he also said that meetings would be held in all the taluks ahead of the walkathon.
During the press meet, posters of “Samarasya Nadige Sauhardatheyedege” were released.
