Mangaluru: Sarvotham Shetty, president of the Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha, has been selected for the prestigious ‘Rangachavadi’ award, which will be presented to him at the Town Hall on October 11.
This award is constituted by the Rangachavadi literary and cultural organisation of Mangaluru.
Rangachavadi has selected Sarvotham Shetty to receive this honour for his immense contribution towards both the Kannada and Tulu languages abroad. The award will be presented to Shetty by Hampi Kannada University’s former chancellor Dr B A Vivek Rai and the programme will be presided over by veteran playwright Dr Sanjeeva Dandakeri.
After the awarding ceremony, Sanjeeva Dandakeri’s famous play ‘Bayya Mallige’ will be staged by the artistes of ‘Gammath Kalavidaru’, Dubai.
