Bantwal: Seven persons sustained serious injuries after tempo rickshaw in which they were travelling fell into a ditch on Tuesday, November 21 night at the Padibilu junction of Kalladka-Kanhangad road.
The tempo rickshaw ferrying six passengers was being driven by Vishwanath, a resident of Mullai. Reportedly, the rickshaw that had halted at Padibagalu junction, jerked forward suddenly and fell into the 20 feet deep drain dug up here by the roadside.
Locals succeeded in rescuing the passengers, who were later taken to the Vittal Government Hospital. The passengers were provided prliminary first aid before being shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for further treatment.
The Vittal police visited the spot and registered the case.
