Sexual assault case involving M’luru lawyer: Five including two police staff suspended

Mangaluru: In connection with the sexual assault case involving City lawyer K. S. N. Rajesh Bhat, two police staff that includes police sub-inspector and constable have been suspended for deriliction of duty.

The suspended police staff are Sub-inspector Srikala, and head constable Pramod from Urwa Police Station. The order for suspension was issued by Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar.

The suspended police staff are facing allegations of making the victim thumb imprint the letter of closure or negotiation, which is illegal in nature.

Meanwhile, a woman named Pavithra Acharya who tried to negotiate at the Urwa Police Station with the victim to close the case too has been arrested. She has also been charged of giving life threat to the victim. The victim was called to the station stating that she will be provided justice but instead was threatened.

Also, the victim’s boyfriend Dhruva and his mother Mahalakshmi has been arrested too.
