Mangaluru: In order to decide the future course of action on the verdict of the Supreme Court allowing women of all ages to enter Shabarimala temple, the Ayyappa Seva Samiti, Mangaluru has asked the devotees to attend a preliminary meeting, which will be organised at the Sanghaniketan in Mannagudda on October 6 at around 4 PM.

The committee in its press release, has asked the devotees to participate in the meeting in large numbers and to give their suggestions. Though the devotees of Ayyappa Swamy in Kerala have been persisting the government to appeal against the verdicts of Supreme Court, the Kerala government has not respond properly. Following this, the devotees of Ayyappa Swamy in Mangaluru are planning to hold a meeting to discuss challenging the verdict.

It may be recalled that the devotees of Kerala had staged a massive protest soon after the verdict of the Supreme Court, in connection with the entry of women into Shabarimala temple. However, there was no positive response by the government. As there are large number of devotees in undivided Dakshina Kannada district, who frequently visit Ayyappa temple in Shabarimale, the Ayyappa Seva Samiti of Mangaluru has taken the lead in forming an opinion on temple issue now.
