Lakshmivara Teertha Swami, the 30th head of the Shiroor Math in Udupi, passed away on the morning of July 19 this year. The hospital where his body was taken, had raised suspicions of poisoning but the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) report concluded that the seer’s death was due to natural cause and not poisoning. Later, the FSL report was sent to Kasturba Hospital for the doctors to examine the test results. Udupi SP Laxman Nimbargi had then confirmed that he had received the report but refused to comment on its details.
