Siddhartha’s dead body shifted to his native village Chikkamagaluru

Mangaluru: The dead body of Siddhartha has been shifted to Chikkamagaluru, after conducting post-mortem at Wenlock Hospital mortuary on Wednesday, July 31.

Soon after the dead body of Siddhartha was spotted at Nethravathi river, near an ice plant at Mulihithlu in Hoige Bazar at about 6.30 am on Wednesday, it was shifted to Wenlock Hospital mortuary. The procedures of the post-mortem were completed at around 10.30 am.

A huge crowd had gathered at the premises of Wenlock Hospital mortuary when the dead body was shifted to Chikkamagaluru in an ambulance, which is expected to reach Chikkamagaluru at around 3 pm. Final rites will be held at Siddhartha’s house at Chikkamagaluru, sources informed.

Cafe Coffee day founder-chairman, V G Siddhartha had gone missing from the Ullal bridge after alighting from his car on Monday evening at around 7.30 pm. Soon after he went missing, a search operation was launched by the district administration with the help of NDRF, scuba divers and local swimming experts among others. Though search operation was continued throughout the night, the teams which were engaged in search operation could not found the dead body. The fishermen who went for fishing found the dead body and helped to shift it to the mortuary.
