Mangaluru: Veteran BJP party leader Dhananjay Kumar, who had re-entered BJP following a brief fallout has now joined the Congress cadres just ahead of the upcoming state assembly polls.

The move comes after a meeting held with AICC President Rahul Gandhi on Friday who it is gathered has assured a smooth entry for the leader in his party. A formal announcement in this regard will be made by KPCC President Dr G Parameshwar in a couple of days, informed the leader.

Dhananjay whose association with the BJP dates back to 1983 has been a Yeddyurappa loyalist and had followed him to join the KJP when the latter had formed the party after his ouster as state chief minister on graft charges.

However, following the dissolving of the KJP, Dhananjay who had abused the BJP central leadership on ouster of Yeddyurappa found strong opposition for his re-entry into the BJP and had joined the JD(S)in 2014

In 2015, after holding talks with his close friend Yeddyurappa, he was back in the BJP’s fold, but remained almost invisible from active political scenes.
