Bengaluru: B V Srinivas Reddy, owner of Shree Minerals, has been arrested by officials of the Karnataka Lokayukta Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the Ballari illegal mining case.
Non-bailable warrants have also been issued against MLAs Anand Singh and Nagendra.
It is learnt that Janardhana Reddy had exerted pressure on the owner of Indian Mines in the Sandur taluk, N Sheikh Sab to make his aide KM Ali Khan a partner in his mining business which was later taken over by Reddy through the power of attorney.
Through the investigation, it was revealed that 1.48 lakh tonnes of ore were sold by Janardhana Reddy causing huge losses to the state exchequer, said SIT IGP M Chandrashekhar.
