Mangaluru: Six persons have been arrested by the city police in connection with attempting the murder of a youth.
C Abdul Hameed(20) from Kaprigudde, M Ismail Rihan (20) from Attavar, Uneez Ahmad(20) from Bolara, Shaban Mishab(23) from Attavar, Naufal(20) from Kudroli, Sohail M P from Kasargod are the arrested. They are accused of attempting to murder Mohammad Faizal PV from Kasargod.
It is said that Mohammad Faizal, his father and accused Suhail had old rivalry in connection with the Kanjangad mosque. A private complaint was registered in this regard.
On February 5, Faizal along with his friends had been to PVR theatre in Mangaluru. After watching a movie, they were heading towards Kankanady. Meanwhile, a car at the entrance of the mall waylaid Faizal’s car. Faizal sensed danger and tried to escape.
However, the attackers followed his car and ambushed him near the Clocktower. The accused Suhail and his friends dragged Faizal out of his car and attempted to kill him. However Faizal managed to escape and filed a complaint at the Pandeshwar police station.
