Bantwal, Aug 11: Rural police arrested six people on Tuesday August 10, in connection with the theft of diesel from the pipeline of a fuel supply company.
The operation was conducted by a team led by inspector T D Nagaraj and sub-inspector Prasanna M. The arrested people include prime accused Ivan Pinto, who owned the land. Welders who rigged a hole in the pipeline, Ajith, a resident of Pachanady in Bondel, and Joel Preetham of Kannur were arrested. Police sources said that many people who are involved in this business are absconding.
The police have confiscated cans filled with diesel worth lakh of rupees.
