Six of a family on way to Iftar die after car rams into tree

Kasaragod: Six members of a family were killed after the car driver lost control over the vehicle and rammed into a tree near Bekala Pallikere on Monday, June 13.
Sakina (39) wife of Hamid from Chetukundu, her children Sajeer (18), Sanir (16), Sakina’s brother’s wife Khairunnisa (24), Khairunnisa’s daughter Fathima (2) and Ramseena (25) wife of Irfan are the deceased. It is learnt that Sajeer was driving the car. Sakina’s son Ajmal (4) and Irfan’s 8-year-old son have suffered injuries in the mishap.

The incident occurred on Monday evening. Two people died on the spot while four others breathed their last at the hospital. They were heading towards Kasaragod from Chetukundu for an Iftar get-together. The police along with the fire personnel and locals retrieved the passengers who were trapped inside the car.

Bekala police have registered a case in this regard.
