Belthangady: In a heart wrenching incident, a six-year-old girl died after she came under wheels of a jeep carrying her family members. The accident occurred in Neriya on Sunday December 13.
The deceased is identified as Swasti, daughter of Raghav Gowda, a resident of Karpaje near Miyar.
According to sources, Gowda with his daughters Swasti and Sanvi, was on his way to his wife’s parental house to attend a puja on a jeep driven by one named Perana Gowda. The driver stopped the jeep near Pilikala pump house in order to pick a couple of relatives. Both Swasti and Sanvi alighted the jeep to accommodate the two relatives in the jeep. Before Swasti could get back, the driver took the jeep on reverse gear, crushing Sanvi.
Belthangady police have registered a case.
