Kasaragod: Skeletal remains of a man were found in a 15- feet deep pond near Perla on Sunday, May 28.

The deceased has been identified as Ramu, aged 30, resident of Yelkan Parvathagudde.

It is said that Ramu, a daily wage worker used to stay away from home for long durations, especially in search of work. Hence, this time when he did not return home for several months, his family members did not bother to file any complaint, believing that he would return one day.

When Badiadka police received the information they swung into action and retrieved the skeletal remains, which have been sent for further analysis to Periyaram Medical College Hospital. It is suspected that he might have slipped into the pond and died.
