Mangaluru: Senior journalist Dinesh Amin Mattu, who also worked as the media advisor of former chief minister Siddaramaiah has caused embarrassment to the Congress leaders by declaring out in open that some Congress leaders would refrain from venturing out, if he opted to talk about some secrets.

“I was identified with Siddaramaiah, but I am not a Congressman,” Mattu said while delivering a presidential address during the valedictory programme of two-day literary conference `Jananudi` at Shanthi Kiran building in Bajjodi on Sunday, December 2.

He said, “as I had worked as the media advisor for Siddaramaiah for five years, people feel that I am a Congressman, but I am clarifying that I do not belong to any party.”

“Former Bajrang Dal leader Mahendra Kumar has used this platform to expose the RSS and the BJP. I too have some tales of the Congress to narrate and if I do, then some Congress leaders would never come out in public, ” he said.

Coming down heavily on Narendra Modi led union government, Mattu said, “the ruling party should seek vote from the public on the basis of their performance. However, the BJP is now taking the sensitive issue of Ram Mandir. It is very sad that some leaders of the BJP are talking about changing our Constitution. Everyone should be aware that if Dalits and downtrodden people are safe now, it is only because of our constitution“, he said.

Senior writers Valerian Rodrigues, S Varalakshmi and DSS leader Mavalli Shankar were present.
