Mangaluru: After a 38-year-old woman from Pilar in the Someshwar village tested positive for Covid-19 on May 13, the district administration has declared the area as a Containment Zone.
Measures have already taken to seal down a 5-km radius of the Pilar area.
It is learnt that the woman from Pilar had been to the First Neuro Hospital in Padil for the treatment for her 19-year-old daughter who is physically-challenged. They were admitted to the hospital on April 20 and stayed in the same ward as the 80-year-old woman from Shakthinagar who also tested positive for COVID-19 a few days ago.
As the treatment for her daughter was too much, the woman got her discharged only two days after their admission.
While the 38-year-old woman has now tested positive for COVID-19, her daughter has tested negative.
