Mangaluru: Sonawane Rishikesh Bhagawan is the new Superintendent of Police of Dakshina Kannada district.
B.M. Laxmi Prasad has been transferred as the SP of Shivamogga district on Thursday, April 1.
Sonawane Rishikesh Bhagawan, a 2015 batch IPS officer, was serving as superintendent of police of Yadgir district and now has been transferred to Dakshina Kannada district.
Sonawane is backed by his experience as an assistant superintendent of police at Bantwal in the district. He has also worked as a Lokayukta SP.
The government announced the transfer in an April 1 communication. Prasad has been transferred to Shivamogga as the Superintendent of Police (SP) until further orders.
