Mangaluru: A 28-year-old sportsperson from Vamanjoor died in Dubai after suffering a cardiac arrest on Friday, February 28.
The deceased has been identified as Ullas Menezes, a native of Vamanjoor. Doctors declared him brought dead when he was rushed to the hospital.
This comes as a major shock as not only was Ullas merely 28 years old, but he got married only two months ago. It can be noted that he married Kenita last December.
Being a good sportsperson in the UAE, he represented many corporate and community sports teams. Just a couple of days ago, he played for the ‘Payyar Punters’, which won the first edition of the throwball league organised by the UAE Throwball group. Besides being a good sportsperson, he had proved himself as a good artiste and organiser of cultural programmes.
According to sources close to the family, Ullas’ body will be brought to Mangaluru after the necessary formalities are completed in the UAE.
