Moodabidri: Srigowri Joshi, a second year student in Mass Communications and Journalism (MCJ) in Alva’s College has been chosen for Yuva Chetana -2017 award.
A Bangalore based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Youth for Seva has chosen Srigowri Joshi, based on a competition titled “Soldiers of Change.” Positive journalism, effective writing and creative writing were part of the competition where Srigowri Joshi stood first in the positive journalism category.
Selection was based on telephone conversation at the initial stage followed by a personal interview and interaction over Skype.
Srigowri Joshi emerged victorious in the final round and will receive the coveted award during a ceremony in New Delhi on March 26.
Alva’s Founder President Dr. Mohan Alva, Trustee Vivek Alva and Journalism Department head Dr. Maulya Jeevanram have congratulated Srigowri Joshi for bringing laurels to the institution.
