Puttur: St Philomena’s College, PG Department of Commerce, Puttur had organised a state level Commerce and Management Fest, “Philo Ventura 2017” on February 9 in the college auditorium.
K A Chandra Kumar, Joint Commissioner, Income Tax Department, Mangalore inaugurated the fest and said, “Learning is a lifelong process. The success rate of our students in UPSC examinations is very low. There is a need to inspire the students to appear for the competitive examinations.” Prof. Leo Noronha, Principal said, “Creativity has become the benchmark of higher education.”
M Jagannath Kamath, Chartered Accountant, Kamath & Kamath Associates, Mangalore participated as the chief guest. Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Chairman, Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research was the guest of honour. Rev. Fr. Alfred J Pinto, the Correspondent presided over the function.
Geethashri and group rendered the invocation. Divyashree K, Coordinator of the Fest welcomed the gathering. Student coordinator Roshan Rozario proposed a vote of thanks. Prajna P K compered the programme.
In the valedictory function, Gangadhara P, Chartered Accountant participated as the chief guest. Rev. Priyanka Adline D’souza, Assistant Professor presented the details of the prize winners.
St. Aloysius College, Mangalore bagged the overall championship and Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College, Ujire won the runners-up prize.
