Mangauru: As the Suvarna Tribhuja fishing boat which went missing on December 15 with seven crew members on board has not been found, the state government is planning to go for 3D mapping technology to scan the deep sea with the help of navvy.

Speaking to reporters at the Police Commissioner’s office on Monday, January 28, he said, “As the debris of the vessel found in the deep sea, we are planning now to use the help of a navvy to scan the deep sea with help of 3D mapping technology. We are not yet sure if the debris belongs to the missing boat Suvarna Tribhuja. Efforts are on to ascertain whether the debris belongs to the missing boat or not. We wish that the fishermen are safe somewhere”, he said.

‘Ananth Kumar Hegde is unfit to be even a GP member’

While responding to a query on Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde’s comments that “The hand that touches a Hindu woman must not exist”, M B Patil opined that Ananth Kumar is not fit for being even a Gram Panchayat member. “As the Lok Sabha election is nearing, he is passing some irresponsible comments in order to secure the votes. We can’t expect more from those who are trying to change our Constitution, even though they are in power only because of the same constitution”, he said.

‘Coalition government would complete its full term’

Regarding Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s statement that he is ready to step down from the CM’s post, Patil said that the coalition government would complete its full term of five years. “Though there are some misunderstandings between both parties, it will be rectified by the high commands of both parties”, he said.

He denied commenting on the issue of Siddaramaiah’s “rude behaviour” in Mysuru claiming that he doesn’t know anything about it.

He commended the Mangaluru police for their initiatives to curb down drug menace. He also asked the police to take stringent action against the drug peddlers as they are targeting students and younger generation as their customers.

Meanwhile, Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists Union President Srinivas Nayak Indaje handed over a report of the ‘Gram Vasthavya’ done by the journalists and other programmes as part of their project ‘Brand Mangaluru.’ Patil lauded the efforts of journalists’ union and opined that Mangaluru was now turning into a safe area.
