Mangaluru/Bengaluru: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, on Monday, April 27, launched a helpline for Kannadigas who are stranded in different parts of the country due to the lockdown.

It can be recalled that last week, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary had urged the state government to set up a helpline number for the Kannadigar stranded in other states.

This helpline functions out of the Kalyana Suraksha Bhavan located near the Dairy Circle in Bengaluru. Over 50 people work at this helpline in three shifts. The stranded Kannadigas can find help at 080-22636800.

Employees at the helpline will consult the appropriate department and officials to help the stranded Kannadigas procure food and essential services.
