Mangaluru: Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences hosted Minister for Youth Empowerment & Sports, Government of Karnataka, Janab Rahim Khan on Monday, February 4.
On his visit to the city, he made also visited the Kanachur campus.
Chairman of Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences, Haji U.K.Monu, florally welcomed the minister and Syndicate Member, RGUHS, Prof U.T.Ifthikar Ali.
A formal event was organized at the Kanachur Auditorium, Kanachur Hospital & Research Centre.
Haji U.K.Monu expressed his regards and pointed out that Janab Rahim Khan has been a very upright and a forward thinking person for the state, which is highly appreciated by the masses.
Janab Rahim Khan in his address, stressed on the fact that, the youth of the nation are the leaders of tomorrow and they need to be moulded in the right fashion. He also mentioned that he has heard a lot about Kanachur and has high regards for Kanachur Monu and they are in the right place for education.
Prof U.T.Ifthikar Ali praised the minister for his vision for the state and also mentioned that Kanachur was the only college under RGUHS to start five courses i.e. MBBS, BPT, BSc Nursing, BSc Optometry and BSc MLT at a single point in time and lauded Kanachur Monu for his efforts.
The minister was also happy to learn that Kanachur Hospital & Research Centre, is poised to be a quaternary Healthcare facility with 1200 beds and 15 Super OR’s with 100 ICU beds very soon.
The dais had the leaders of various cadres of the Indian National Congress from DK, heads of various institutions and principals.
The gathering of students and faculty appreciated the encouragement by Janab Rahim Khan.
Chief Administrative Officer, Kanachur Hospital & Research Centre, Dr Rohan Monis welcomed the luminaries on the dais and the august gathering. He also proposed the vote of thanks.
