Mangaluru: Days after state government decided to cancel financial assistance provided to two government-aided private schools named Sri Rama Vidya Kendra, Kalladka and Sri Devi Vidya Kendra, Punacha, which are are being run by the trust led by RSS strongman Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, BC road, on Friday witnessed a massive protest by students of the said schools and their parents.
Protesters stated that Sri Rama Vidya Kendra school is providing free mid day meal, uniforms, free textbooks for 2126 students in the school. The grant was legally and deservingly provided to school from 2001.
“Even the Siddaramaiah government continued this for four years, but now unfortunately the government has cancelled the grant. There are 94% poor students in the school hailing from backward class, SC/St communities. Government is providing such grants to 52 schools in the state,” said the protesters tagging the move of the government as act of vengeance.
“The government and the district in-charge minister has wronged the students who were gaining knowledge,” they said demanding the government to withdraw the order failing with the stir would intensify.
Many believe that the schools led by RSS head honcho Dr Bhat were targeting specially because of the sour equation he shares with District in-charge minister Ramanath Rai.
