Mangaluru: A team from Spearhead Media Pvt. Ltd. (owners of the popular pan Karnataka websites www.newskannada.com and newskarnataka.com and Karnataka Today, the pan Karnataka English Monthly Magazine) visited and felicitated the newly appointed Bishop of the Mangalore Diocese Most. Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha at the Bishop’s House on September 19. The team consisted of shareholders and the Management of the Media House – Roque D’Souza, Rajesh Venoor, Nelson Kulshekar, Bhakthi Hegde – Editor Newskarnataka.com, Canute Pinto – Director, Marketing and Operations and CEO, Brian Fernandes.
The team briefed the Bishop about the Media House’s origin, growth and activities, its desire to use its platforms to provide unbiased news coverage of issues and concerns across the state and increase rural employment through a freelance franchise model. The Bishop, in his response, lauded the idea of employment generation and said that it is the need of the hour. He said the youth must be encouraged to develop their skills and become independent entrepreneurs and he would support any initiative in this regard.
The Bishop was felicitated wth bouquets by Mrs. Roque D’souza and Ms. Bhakthi Hegde, gifted a fruit hamper by Nelson Kulshekar and Rajesh Venoor, draped with a shawl by Roque D’Souza and presented with a framed portrait of himself by Canute Pinto and Brian Fernandes.
