Bantwal: Thieves burgled a house in Panemangaluru and decamped with 46 sovereigns of gold and Rs 40,000 cash.
The incident came to light on Sunday evening. The robbery took place at businessman Ismail’s house in Guddeyangadi. The family members had gone to their relatives’ house in Taudugoli on Saturday.
The thieves managed to get the locker key which was hidden under the bed and stole the gold and cash.
The house owner immediately informed Bantwal town police. The police have visited the house and are further investigating. Fingerprint experts and canine squad were called to the spot. The police have collected crucial evidence about the people involved in the robbery.
