Three interstate thieves nabbed, Rs 4.4 Lakh worth booty seized

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru South police arrested three interstate thieves and seized gold ornaments, television and other articles, valued totally at Rs 4.4 Lakh from their possession.

The arrested have been identified as Anil Kumar (28), a resident of Chikkamagalur district, Veerendra Shetty (46) of Boliyar village, Mangaluru and Abdul Raheem alias Chappe Thanni (42), a resident of Kasba Bengre.

Among the arrested, Anil Kumar has nine pending cases of theft against him in different police stations in Kerala and Karnataka. Veerendra Shetty has four pending cases pertaining to attempt to murder and theft. Abdul Raheem has 6 pending cases, related to attempt to murder and theft at various police stations.

The accused would be produced before the court, police sources said.
