Three more from DK test COVID-19 positive; Tally rises to 95

Mangaluru: Three more persons from the Dakshina Kannada district tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday, June 8.

With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases in the district has climbed to 195. Two of the people who tested positive today arrived from Maharashtra and one arrived from Dubai recently.

The three have been in quarantine ever since they returned to the district and their samples were sent for testing, the results of which came back positive on Monday.

Meanwhile, three people were discharged from the Wenlock Hospital on Monday, after making a full recovery from COVID-19.

The total number of discharges in the district has now risen to 99. Among the three who were discharged, two are men aged 52 and 43 and one is a woman aged 32.

There are still 89 active cases in the district. So far, six people from the district have succumbed and one person died of non-COVID causes.

In Karnataka, 308 people tested positive on Monday, taking the total to 5760. Additionally, three people succumbed to the infection, taking the death toll in the state to 64.
