Mangaluru: As no fresh cases of Covid-19 have been reported from the Thumbe (Bantwal taluk) and Sampya (Puttur taluk) villages in the last 28 days, they have been de-classified as containment zones.

Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, in a press release, informed that both the Thumbe and Sampya villages were declared as containment zones after cases of Covid-19 were reported. It has now been 28 days since the last Covid-29 case was reported from either village.

As the primary and secondary contacts of the Covid-19 patients have also completed the prescribed duration of home quarantine, both the containment zones have now been denotified, the press release added.
