Mangaluru: A tigeress named Rani has given birth to five cubs at Pilikula zoo few days ago. It is said that the birth of five cubs is surprising because usually a tigress gives birth to only two or three cubs at a time.
The sources from Pilikula informed that the tigress and her cubs are healthy and have been kept separately, away from public view.
The mother tiger Rani was brought to Pilikula zoo from Bannerughatta three years ago. The tigress will be brought out only after examining its health condition, informed Pilikula Biological Park Director Jayaprakash Bhandary.
