Kasaragod: Excise sleuths raided a godown in Badiyadka and seized tobacco products stored illegally valued at over Rs 8 lakhs. Two men involved in the trade were arrested during the raid on October 4.
The arrested are Hariprasad (22) from Yethadka and Sandesh from Arlapadav near Konaje.
The raids were conducted based on credible information as the sleuths were aware that all products brought from Karnataka are supplied across Kerala. Kasaragod has become a hub of such activities. Few days back, huge stocks of pan masala products were sized from Kanhangad.
The chewable tobacco products valued over Rs 8 lakhs were stored in more than 100 plastic bags.
