Tragedy struck on Thursday afternoon at Malpe Beach, as a group of tourists from Belur found themselves in a perilous situation while enjoying the sea. Among the three individuals who encountered trouble in the water, one lost his life, while the other two were rescued in a swift response by a team of expert swimmers.
The deceased has been identified as Girish, aged 26, whose promising life was cut short tragically. His companions, Santosh aged 24, and Harish aged 30, were fortunate enough to be rescued from the turbulent waters and are currently receiving medical attention at Manipal Hospital.
