Kasargod: Two persons of a family were killed while four others sustained injuries in a road accident involving a truck and an auto on the national highway here at Kasargod on Sunday morning
The deceased are identified as 32-year-old Shobha, a Chattanchal resident and her daughter Vismaya aged 8 years. Shobha’s husband Raja who was also in the auto at the time of the accident has sustained serious injuries and is said to be critical.
Two others who have been critically injured in the accident include the auto driver identified as Abdul Khader and the truck cleaner. While the truck driver too suffered injuries, his condition is said to be stable.
As per reports, the truck travelling towards Mangaluru from Kanhangad initially collided with another lorry and fell over the auto killing both the mother and daughter on the spot.
Locals aided the police personnel in removing the bodies from the auto that was totally crushed in the accident
