Mangaluru: Tulu Rakshana Vedike (TRV) held a protest today against Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) for not supplying drinking water.

Addressing the gathering, Founder President of TRV Yogesh Shetty Jeppu said that, we can live without religion, but we can’t live without water. MCC officials’ negligence and the dereliction of duty are the main reasons for lack of drinking water.

“Mangaluru city pays 30 percent of tax to the state government. Because of irregular supply of drinking water a lot of hotels, lodges have closed their business. This affects city economy also. Even in the presence of Technical Engineers and having the support of technology, MCC has failed to manage the situation,” he said.

He urged the Mayor that MCC should take immediate action on water crisis and on the officials who are neglecting the situation.

Rajesh Kutthar, Deviprasad Shetty and other Tulu Rakshana Vedike members were present.
