Kasargod: In a massive drug seizure, the sleuths of Malappuram Police Station have recovered 40 kg ganja by arresting two drug peddlers from Uppala.
The accused are identified as Musthak Ahmed (31), a resident of Magalpady, Uppala and Ibrahim Siddik (26) of Natekal, Uppala. Acting on a tip-off, the police the arrested duo while they were getting drugs from the neighbouring state.
According to police, the accused used to smuggle the drugs from Andhra Pradesh. They stored it in various lodges in Mangaluru and Udupi. Later, through their agents, they used to distribute the cannabis in various places.
Police have confiscated a car and mobile phones from the accused.
Police informed that Musthak Ahmed had been booked earlier for peddling 12 kg ganja and attempt to murder.
