Mangaluru: As many as two persons have been arrested by the Konaje police in connection to pelting stones at a Masjid in Natekal area here.
The stone pelting incident was reported late on Sunday night, which left the windows and lights at the gate of the Masjid damaged.
The accused have been working in water supply section in the area and had come to the spot on a bike.
The accused also damaged the CCTV camera of the house adjacent to the mosque. Police have arrested both the accused after they examined the CCTV recordings. Konaje police have registered a case against the two accused.
An air of suspicion exists in the district after Deepak Rao, a youth from Katipalla was hacked to death. As a repercussion, Basheer, a canteen owner from the region was assaulted. Basheer succumbed to injuries two days after the attack.
SDPI leader Haris Mallar demanded that the accused be exiled from the area.
