Two weeks, four family members succumb to H1N1

Bantwal: A woman from Sajipanadu who was suffering from H1N1, breathed her last here on Tuesday, October 16, according to family sources. She was admitted to a hospital, after confirmation of symptoms. This has led to a fear among the villagers and the deceased’s family is completely broken down.

The deceased is Zubeena (22).

On October 10, Zubeena’s mother Avamma (44) had lost her life as a result of not responding to the H1N1 treatment.

Dr. Deepa Prabhu from a hospital in Bantwal confirmed, “Avamma passed away on October 10, due to null response towards the treatment and that her daughter Zubeena had also breathed her last like her mother. Another person from the Sajipanadu village is suspected to be infected with H1N1 virus and is admitted to a hospital. The medical reports are yet to come.”

During the past four to eight months, an elderly family member Mayyadi had taken ill and passed away on October 1 at the residence. Mayyadi is the father of two girls and two boys. Zubeena, who is known to be the second daughter, passed away today. Her newborn was affected with Adolescent Rumination Syndrome, due to which it could not survive and breathed its last too on October 4.

H1N1 infected Mayyadi’s wife, Avamma passed away on October 10. Within two weeks, four of the family members have died. The whole household wears a deserted place.
